This past week, FC Grace held a 3-day conference in Zambia. There were coaches and leaders from both Zambia and DR Congo. A beautiful testimony came out of this conference, along with an immediate need for 57 Bimba language bibles for these Muslim coaches who came to Christ.
Mohammad is a leader among this group of Muslim coaches.
On the second day of the conference, Mohammad, a large man with a very strong appearance, walked forward with tears running down his face and beard. He spoke the local Bimba language to the other coaches, sharing that he has seven wives. He has never experienced happiness, only bitterness and anger. After seeing the Circle Diagram he knew that his life was being wasted thinking he could find peace and satisfaction through these women. Before attending this conference he was considering getting an eighth wife. But now he is broken, and understands that he can never escape this prison of chasing after love in this way. He told his Muslim brothers that even though they saw his passion for soccer, every day when he left the field, he would walk home miserable knowing he had to deal with this issue and not find satisfaction.
Mohammad was very disturbed learning this truth, shaking and crying. He told his brothers that he now knew the truth of his condition and that Christ was the only way. He was baptised on Tuesday, December 31st, and with seeing this strong leader come to such a confession, repentance and understanding, the other 56 Muslim coaches followed him, accepting Christ and getting baptised as well. An additional 100 coaches also joined them for a total of 157 coaches who came to Christ at this conference.
