The Save

The Save.png

Jesus’ death on the cross washed away all our sins – past, present and future. Jesus’ resurrection gave us a new spirit, a new identity as a son of God. Our spirit is no longer dead but alive to God, and He sees us as righteous.

As a result, our sin and flesh lose their power over us.  The flesh now has access to the spirit within us.   This is the power of Jesus at work within us.  The influences of inflation and deflation are replaced by the spirit at work within us. Now there is the possibility of inflation by the spirit.  Change will now come from Jesus within instead of our own failed efforts through this world and our carnal flesh.  Sin no longer has access to the core of our being.

These things are now available to the new Christian.  Warning: Many Christians believe that this is all there is and that they have a golden ticket to salvation.   This may be true, but life here on earth will still take on our old identity unless we continue to grow in our believe in Jesus and walk in obedience resting on his perfect faith, not ours.

Now Jesus is setting the road of faith and life for us.  He is establishing the places for our feet so that we may grow in our soul to be like him.   The Spirit is the reflection of Christ in us.   The opportunity for us is to become like the reflection in our Body, Mind and Will so that we take on his characteristics of love to shine upon this dark world.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.[a] The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2 Corinthians 5:21  God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Romans 6:3-4  Do you not know that we who have been baptized into Christ Jesus, were baptized into His death? We were buried, therefore, with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Jesus was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 8:1-4  There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.  For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Romans 8:12-14   So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

Ephesians 2:4-5  But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved

Offered Prayer

Dear Lord, Thank you for sending Jesus in my place as the perfect sacrifice. I am so thankful that you see me as righteous, that you love me, that you see value and worth in me. Help me, Holy Spirit to truly believe these words of truth; help me to operate out of the Spirit instead of the flesh, that I can be the light of Christ to others. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
