The Ultimate Coach

The Ultimate Coach.png

The Ultimate Coach is formed when the Coach has a developing relationship with God.   God is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.   A coach who understands who he or she is in Christ (holy, righteous, heir of God, and co-heir with Christ) and lives this out for the world to see provides, the greatest opportunity for the player to see Christ alive and in-action.

The Ultimate Coach knows what his role is for the players.   He is their shepherd - their motivator, encourager, helper, trainer, teacher and counselor.  The Ultimate coach also understands that he or she is able to be these roles because of Holy Spirit living inside them, and thus he is always pointing the player to God.

The Ultimate Coach's goal is about winning players, and not games. Winning games is simply a by-product of a coach and his God-loving connection with his or her players.  The players, in-turn, are highly motivated by such a coach and will perform to the best of their ability both on and off the field.

There is a decision that can only be made by you the coach.  The Ultimate Coach can materialize only after you make the decision to give your life to Jesus Christ.

Matthew 22:37-39
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

2 Corinthians 4:5
For what we proclaim is not ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake.

1 Corinthains 2:2

For I decided to know nothing amoung you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

Prayer
Father, I truly want to be the ultimate coach. Teach me how to do this. Show me when I'm not doing it. Humble me to be willing to accept criticism, to be willing to change. I want to see my players excel, to see them thrive, to see them win, and to know that I was part of showing them your love as you have shown me. In Jesus' name, amen.
